NBA2K: T-Wolves, Warriors set for showdown at NBA 2K League’s Tipoff

T-Wolves Gaming and Warriors Gaming Squad held serve on Thursday, setting up a massive showdown Friday in the NBA 2K League’s The Tipoff.

The lone unbeatens teams in group play entering Thursday, the Wolves and Warriors both won to improve to 5-0. They will face off Friday in the final night of group play. Both teams are in the Western Conference’s Group 3.

The Tipoff is the first of three tournaments that lead up to the NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs that run from June 26-29. The Tipoff runs through May 25, and it will be followed by The Turn (May 29-June 15) and The Ticket (June 18 and 22).

Though both the Wolves and Warriors got wins, the Wolves’ victory was far more impressive. Playing a Jazz Gaming squad that had won only one of its first four games, the Wolves got 32 points and 13 assists from Michael “BearDaBeast” Key and saw all five players score in double figures as they rolled to a 100-50 demolition.

The Warriors improved to 5-0, as well, with a 69-58 victory over Lakers Gaming — another team entering the night at 1-3.

Like the Wolves, the Warriors got double-digit scoring from all five players. Kenneth “Kenny Got Work” Hailey led the way with 17 points, followed by 16 from Jaden “Nay” Bhopal and 14 from Nidal “Mama Im Dat Man” Nasser.

In the Eastern Conference, Thursday began with four teams tied atop the standings at 3-1 but ended with only two teams tied for first. Wizards District Gaming edged Raptors Uprising GC 77-75 in a matchup of teams that entered the day at 3-1. Heat Check Gaming kept pace with the Wizards with an 83-79 win over Gen.G Tigers, while Hawks Talon GC dropped to 3-2 after losing to Knicks Gaming 71-67.

In other games Thursday, DUX Infinitos beat Pacers Gaming 66-64, the Knicks edged Celtics Crossover Gaming 77-76, Cavs Legion GC beat Magic Gaming 56-52, Mavs Gaming got by Grizz Gaming 68-60, Pistons GT slipped past Bucks Gaming 88-86, 76ers GC topped Hornets Venom GT 68-59, Knicks Guard Gaming beat Blazer5 Gaming 75-70, and NetsGC took down NBL Oz Gaming 75-72.

By winning twice on Thursday, Knicks Gaming improved to 4-1 to climb into the tie for first in the East.
