NBA2K: Rim Runners stun Celtics in NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Switch Open

Community team Rim Runners rallied to upset Celtics Crossover Gaming 3-2 on Thursday as bracket play began in the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Switch Open.

Twelve first-round matches were contested on Thursday. The event runs through April 6.

Rim Runners dropped the first two games against the fourth-seeded Celtics, 22-18 and 22-16, before bouncing back for 21-19, 22-14 and 23-13 victories.

Next up for Rim Runners will be Mavs Gaming, who swept Wizards District Gaming 3-0. The Mavs prevailed 22-20, 23-16, 23-13.

In other Thursday action, Pistons GT thrashed Cavs Legion GC 3-0, top-seeded Heat Check Gaming downed community team Glitchy 3-1, Hornets Venom GT nipped Knicks Gaming 3-2, the Gen.G Tigers crushed community team GCL Underdogs 3-0, DUX Infinito dumped NetsGC 3-0, second-seeded Lakers Gaming manhandled community team Handlez 3-0, Grizz Gaming throttled community squad Isles Gaming Team 3-0, Magic Gaming got past Blazer5 Gaming 3-0, Hawks Talon GC stopped Warriors Gaming Squad 3-1, and Pacers Gaming edged T-Wolves Gaming 3-2.

The remaining first-round matches are scheduled for Friday:
–Jazz Gaming vs. community team Glo Navy Glosquitos
–Raptors Uprising GC vs. Bucks Gaming
–NBL Oz Gaming vs. community team Dribble Godz
–Kings Guard Gaming vs. 76ers GC

The Switch Open is the second of three 3v3 tournaments in the NBA 2K League season. Lakers Gaming won the Slam Open, and the Steal Open will follow in April. The 3v3 playoffs are set for April 24-27 in Washington, with cumulative results in the three tournaments determining the playoff field and seeding.
