Solomona “Mona” Faitaua-Nanai became the first rookie to log a triple-double in the NBA 2K League this season, leading Pistons GT to an 86-59 rout of Mavs Gaming on Wednesday in qualifying for The Tipoff event.
Mona scored 14 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and dished out 10 assists while shooting 7-for-9 on field-goal attempts.
Detroit also got 34 points and 15 assists from Anthony “ANT” Costanzo, and Alex “Bsmoove” Reese contributed 25 points.
Emmanuel “FantaSZN” Gosman paced the Mavs with 21 points.
The Tipoff is the first of three tournaments that lead up to the NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs that run from June 26-29. The Tipoff runs through May 25, and it will be followed by The Turn (May 29-June 15) and The Ticket (June 18 and 22).
Elsewhere on Wednesday, the league’s lone remaining undefeated teams powered to easy victories. T-Wolves Gaming thrashed Kings Guard Gaming 83-57, and Warriors Gaming Squad walloped Jazz Gaming 91-63, with the winners both moving to 4-0.
