Less than a week after finishing runner-up at the NBA 2K League’s The Tipoff, Raptors Uprising GC lost its second game in as many days, falling to Magic Gaming 62-60 on Thursday in the second day of group play for The Turn.
The Raptors took a 46-42 lead into the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on. Joshua “unguardable” Hunter led the Magic with 22 points and 11 assists. Antoine “antoinelove” Times finished with 20 points and 12 assists in the loss.
The Turn is the second of three tournaments that lead up to the NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs that run June 26-29. Last week, Warriors Gaming Squad won The Tipoff. The Turn runs through June 15 and the final tournament, The Ticket, is on June 18 and 22.
Group play results will determine bracket seeding for The Turn, which carries a $160,000 prize pool.
Warriors Gaming, which won The Tipoff, improved to 2-0 in The Turn with a 75-70 win over DUX Infinitos. One day after finishing with 24 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, Jaden “Nay” Bhopal had 24 points, 11 rebounds and four assists Thursday. Yacine “Warknocks” Jemel scored a team-high 16 points in the loss.
