Lakers Gaming pulled off a reverse sweep to beat T-Wolves Gaming 3-2 on Friday and advance to the upper-bracket final of the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 playoffs in Washington.
The Lakers’ next opponent will be the Gen.G Tigers, who downed Magic Gaming 3-1 on Friday.
The T-Wolves opened with 21-17 and 22-19 victories before the Lakers roared back, winning 22-12, 23-15 and 21-16.
Dhwan “ShiftyKaii” White paced the Lakers with averages of 11.8 points and 2.6 assists per game.
The Tigers dropped the first game to the Magic 22-11 before producing 24-20, 23-18 and 22-19 wins.
Jaiden “gallow” Frank was Gen.G’s lead with averages of 15.7 points and 1.7 assists per game.
In lower-bracket action Friday, Bucks Gaming won twice to set up a fifth-round match against Magic Gaming.
The Bucks swept Grizz Gaming 3-0, then eliminated the T-Wolves 3-1.
The Magic followed their loss to the Tigers with a 3-1 victory over 76ers GC. Earlier Friday, the 76ers ousted the last remaining community team, Rim Runners, with a 3-2 decision.
The 3v3 playoffs, which have a $550,000 prize pool, run through Saturday. Eight teams remain — four in the winners bracket and four in the losers bracket. The two losers bracket games will be played first on Friday, followed by the winners bracket semis and then two more games.
