Second-seeded Lakers Gaming and ninth-seeded Magic Gaming advanced to the upper-bracket final of the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Switch Open with victories on Friday.

The Lakers downed 22nd-seeded 76ers Gaming 3-1, and the Magic stalled the run of 29th-seeded community team Rim Runners 3-0.

Dhwan “ShiftyKaii” White put up 11.5 points per game for the Lakers as he hit 71 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Joshua “unguardable” Hunter paced the Magic with an average of 10.3 points as he shot 60 percent from 3-point range.

The winner of the Lakers-Magic matchup on Saturday will advance to the grand final to be played later in the day.

The double-elimination Switch Open is the second of three 3v3 tournaments in the NBA 2K League season. Lakers Gaming won the Slam Open in March, and the Steal Open will follow this month. The 3v3 playoffs are set for April 24-27 in Washington, with cumulative results in the three tournaments determining the playoff field and seeding.

In lower-bracket action on Friday, the Gen.G Tigers and T-Wolves Gaming both won three times to stay alive.

The Tigers took down Cavs Legion GC 3-2, Celtics Crossover Gaming 3-0 and the 76ers 3-1.

The T-Wolves topped Jazz Gaming 3-0, Bucks Gaming 3-1 and Rim Runners 3-2.

In earlier lower-bracket matches, the Celtics eliminated Pistons GT 3-0 and the Bucks edged Grizz Gaming 3-2.

Gen.G will face off with the T-Wolves on Saturday, with the winner matching up against the Magic-Lakers loser in the final lower-bracket contest. The team that emerges from the lower bracket then would have to beat the winner of the upper-bracket final twice to emerge as champion.
