The NBA suspended Washington Wizards assistant coach Mike Batiste for two games without pay for entering the stands and trying to confront a fan in Monday night’s home blowout loss to the Miami Heat.

Batiste, 44, had to be restrained by players after he lunged into the stands with 15 seconds remaining in the 121-100 loss. After Montrezl Harrell and Thomas Bryant intervened to hold Batiste back and prevent physical contact with fans, Batiste and Harrell immediately went to the locker room.

Batiste will miss the next two games, both at home: Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets and Saturday night against the Sacramento Kings.
