NBA: Thunder get best of Clippers for 6-0 start to season

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 25 points and nine assists as the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder remained unbeaten with a 105-92 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night.

Oklahoma City has opened the season 6-0 for the first time in franchise history. The Thunder are the last unbeaten team in the Western Conference.

Luguentz Dort scored 16 points, Jalen Williams added 15, Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe had 12 apiece and Chet Holmgren netted 10 for the Thunder, who have won all six games by at least 12 points.

Oklahoma City led by three before opening the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run to move ahead 93-80 with 7:13 remaining.

The Thunder dominated the frame and extended their lead to 102-84 on Wiggins’ layup with 3:40 left.

Oklahoma City finished shooting 42.9 percent from the field and went 16-for-39 (41 percent) from 3-point range.

Norman Powell led the Clippers with 24 points, while James Harden had 12 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. Terance Mann and Kris Dunn scored 11 points apiece for Los Angeles, which remained winless in four games at the new Intuit Dome this season.

The Clippers held a 28-19 lead at the end of the first quarter after holding Oklahoma City to 33.3 percent shooting overall.

Los Angeles pushed its lead to 13 points before the Thunder later rallied with a 15-0 run to move ahead 50-47 with 2:34 remaining in the first half.

Powell scored eight straight points to help Los Angeles retake the lead, and the Clippers held a 57-53 advantage at the break.

Gilgeous-Alexander had 15 points in the first half, while Powell had 13 to lead the Clippers.

Wiggins hit a 3-pointer with 18.2 seconds left in the third quarter to help Oklahoma City take an 81-78 lead into the final period.

The game was the second of a back-to-back for the Thunder, who held the Clippers to a season-low scoring total. Ivica Zubac finished with nine points and 12 rebounds for Los Angeles.
