Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young could make his return to the lineup Wednesday night against the visiting Charlotte Hornets, ESPN reported.

The All-Star point guard tore a ligament in his left pinkie finger on Feb. 23 and had surgery four days later. He was cleared to return to practice Monday.

The Hawks (36-43) are just 12-11 since his injury. They have clinched a play-in berth in the Eastern Conference, entering Wednesday as the No. 10 seed and one game behind the No. 9 Chicago Bulls.

After hosting the Hornets, Atlanta finishes out the regular season on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday and the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.

Young, 25, has averaged a team-best 26.4 points and 10.8 assists in 51 games (all starts) this season.

The three-time All-Star has tallied 25.6 points and 9.5 assists in 404 career games (all starts) since being selected with the fifth overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft.
