The Denver Nuggets signed veteran center DeMarcus Cousins to a 10-day contract on Friday.
Cousins was a free agent after being waived earlier this month by the Bucks. With Milwaukee, the 31-year-old Cousins averaged 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in 17 games (five starts).
A four-time All-Star, Cousins has played in 623 career games (559 starts) with Sacramento, New Orleans, Golden State, Houston, the Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee, posting career averages of 20.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks in 30.6 minutes per game.
Cousins was the fifth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft by the Kings.
The Nuggets are 23-20 and in sixth place in the NBA’s Western Conference, 11.5 games behind the Phoenix Suns. They host the Memphis Grizzlies Friday night.
