The Brooklyn Nets ruled out guard Ben Simmons for Wednesday night’s game against the Phoenix Sun with a knee contusion.

The Athletic reported that Simmons developed swelling in his knee after taking a hit in Monday night’s game, which was his return from a two-month absence due to lower back problems. Tests showed no major issue with the knee, per the report.

Simmons posted 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting with 11 assists and eight rebounds in 18 minutes of the Nets’ win over the Utah Jazz.

Simmons, 27, is averaging 7.0 points, 10.4 rebounds and 7.3 assists in seven games (six starts) this season.
