Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd did not travel with the team to Denver due to a non-COVID illness and will be replaced by assistant Sean Sweeney for Friday’s game against the Nuggets.

The Mavericks are off to a 4-0 start heading into their in-season tournament game in Denver.

Sweeney stepped in for Kidd when the latter missed four games in January 2022 due to COVID-19. Dallas posted a 3-1 record under Sweeney’s watch.
