Center Kristaps Porzingis is one of three Dallas Mavericks that will not play Thursday night against the visiting San Antonio Spurs.

Porzingis is dealing with lower back tightness after leaving Tuesday night’s game. Joining him on the bench Thursday night are forward Sterling Brown (left ankle sprain) and guard Trey Burke (health and safety protocol).

Center Boban Marjanovic (back) is questionable.

Porzingis is off to a slow start, averaging 12.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in three starts. He’s shooting just 23.5 percent from 3-point range. His career average is 36 percent. He scored nine points in 20 minutes before exiting against the Rockets.

Porzingis entered the season fully healthy for the first time since joining the Mavs in 2019-20.

Thursday night is the front end of a back-to-back. The Mavs (2-1) play in Denver on Friday night.

Brown played nine minutes Tuesday night against the Houston Rockets. Burke also played, logging four minutes.
