Los Angeles Lakers star forward/center Anthony Davis was ruled out of Thursday’s home game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a left ankle sprain.

Davis, who tweaked his ankle in a Christmas Day game against the Golden State Warriors, will miss his second game of the season after sitting out a Nov. 6 contest against the Memphis Grizzlies.

In Tuesday’s 122-110 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Davis scored 28 points with 13 rebounds in 37 minutes. He has averaged 26.1 points with 11.6 rebounds in 31 games this season and scored 30 points with 11 rebounds in a Dec. 8 victory against the Trail Blazers.

A nine-time All-Star, the 31-year old has averaged 24.2 points with 10.7 rebounds in 767 games (760 starts) over 13 seasons.

The Lakers also will be without guard Gabe Vincent (left oblique strain) for the second consecutive game after he departed Saturday’s 132-122 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
