Lauri Markkanen scored 26 points to help the Utah Jazz snap a five-game losing streak in a 128-109 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night in Salt Lake City.

Jordan Clarkson added 22 points and 10 assists, John Collins had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Collin Sexton contributed 16 points and 10 assists as Utah won for the first time since Feb. 6.

Devin Vassell led San Antonio with 27 points, to go with nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks, but the Spurs lost their fourth straight game and 11th in their last 12.

San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama followed his historic 5×5 game against the Los Angeles Lakers with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Utah scored 34 points off of 20 Spurs turnovers, drained 17 3-pointers and shot 51.1 percent.

The Jazz, who led by as many as 24 points, held the Spurs to 18 points in the first quarter.

Markkanen ignited the Jazz with 11 points in the first quarter, and they finished the quarter on a 15-5 run to build a 32-18 lead.

San Antonio was only slightly better in the second quarter, scoring 21 points en route to a 63-39 deficit at the half.

The Spurs led 8-7 when the Jazz took the lead for good after scoring seven straight on a Keyonte George 3-pointer, a Collins dunk and a Kris Dunn basket.

San Antonio outscored Utah 35-30 in the third to make it a 19-point game at 93-74 heading into the final period.

Vassell and Wembanyama hit consecutive 3-pointers to open the fourth quarter, and the Spurs trimmed the deficit to nine after starting the quarter on a 15-5 run.

Utah regained a 21-point lead at 116-95 with 5:15 left. The game-clinching 11-0 run began when Collins hit a 3-pointer and Markkanen set up a Sexton alley-oop score with a steal and a nice pass. Clarkson and Markkanen then hit back-to-back treys.
