NBA: Hawks F John Collins expected to miss three games with foot injury

Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins is expected to miss the next three games after an MRI exam on Saturday revealed a strain in his right foot.

Collins left Friday’s game against San Antonio because of pain in his right heel. The Hawks said his status will be re-evaluated after a period of rest, treatment and daily monitoring throughout the All-Star break.

Collins is expected to miss games against Boston on Sunday, Cleveland on Tuesday and Orlando on Wednesday. The Hawks’ first game after the break will be Feb. 24 against Chicago.

Collins, 24, is averaging 16.8 points and 7.9 rebounds in 50 games this season, all starts. He has played his entire five-season career with the Hawks, who are 26-29 and in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
