Los Angeles Lakers coach Darvin Ham missed Wednesday’s practice for personal reasons and LeBron James was excused, the team said.

James will join the team in San Francisco on Thursday night when the Lakers play the Golden State Warriors to open the second half of the season. Ham plans to coach the game.

The Lakers are 30-26 and open the post All-Star break as the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference. They have won three straight.

James, who played in his record-setting 20th All-Star Game on Sunday, is averaging 24.8 points, 7.8 assists and 7.2 rebounds in 49 games this season.
