Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard/small forward Terance Mann has been ruled out of the team’s season opener against the visiting Portland Trail Blazers due to an ankle injury.

Per coach Tyronn Lue, Mann sustained the injury while contesting a shot and landing on a teammate’s foot during Monday’s practice.

Mann, 27, averaged 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 81 games (36 starts) last season with the Clippers.

Robert Covington and Nicolas Batum are candidates to replace Mann in the starting lineup.
