Los Angeles Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue was not on the bench for Sunday’s home game against the Sacramento Kings because of back pain.

The team announced shortly before tipoff that Lue was being sent home and that assistant coach Brian Shaw would be in charge of the team.

Los Angeles entered Sunday on a two-game winning streak, marking the first time the team has won consecutive games since a three-game winning streak Feb. 8-13. The Clippers and Kings were meeting as the Nos. 8 and 9 teams in the Western Conference, respectively.

Injury issues have plagued the Clippers’ season. Star forward Kawhi Leonard missed the first 34 games with chronic knee discomfort, while leading scorer Norman Powell was out for the ninth time in 10 games, first with a knee injury and currently with hamstring soreness.
