Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown’s right ankle sprain is not as serious as initially feared.

Team president of basketball operations Brad Stevens provided an updated prognosis Thursday.

“I think he’s doing better than I originally thought when I saw him go down,” Stevens told 98.5 The Sports Hub. “He’s going to be constantly re-evaluated over the next couple days … but it doesn’t look like a long-term thing.”

Brown, 25, exited Tuesday night’s 107-98 win against the Atlanta Hawks after playing just 2:48 before sustaining the injury.

The former All-Star is averaging 23.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 50 starts in his sixth NBA season.

Brown was ruled out for Thursday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Coach Ime Udoka called it a “day-to-day thing” on Wednesday.
