The Chicago Bulls extended the contract of coach Billy Donovan prior to the start of the 2022-23 season.

Terms were not released by the team Tuesday. However, The Athletic reported that the Bulls added years to Donovan’s contract. He had two years remaining on his original four-year contract coming into the season.

The Bulls are 86-88 in two-plus seasons under Donovan, who led the team to their first playoff appearance since 2017 in 2021-22.

The Bulls are off to a 9-11 start this season.

Donovan, 57, went 243-157 in five seasons as coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2015-20.
