Bronny James is expected to play in his first G League game on Saturday, following a schedule that will see the rookie shuttle between the Los Angeles Lakers and their G League affiliate.

James will be with the NBA club and available to play on Friday at home against the Philadelphia 76ers, then head to nearby El Segundo on Saturday for the South Bay Lakers’ game against the Salt Lake City Stars.

ESPN reported that the Lakers’ plan is for James to play in G League home games.

The Lakers selected James, 20, with the No. 55 overall selection in the 2024 NBA Draft. He has played in four games this season, including the Oct. 22 opener in which he and his dad, LeBron James, became the first father-son tandem to play in an NBA game together.

On the season, the younger James has played 13 minutes over four games and scored four points on 1-for-6 shooting and two free throws.
