Alec Burks came off the bench to tie his career high with 34 points, Jalen Duren recorded a double-double of 20 points and tied his career best with 19 rebounds and the Detroit Pistons snapped a seven-game losing streak Monday with a 129-117 win over the Washington Wizards in Washington, D.C.

Detroit came into the matchup winless since snapping its previous losing skid, an NBA-record 28 straight, and without a road victory since beating Charlotte Oct. 27.

Thanks to surges of 11-2 to close out the third quarter and 12-3 midway through the fourth quarter, however, the Pistons ended both droughts.

Detroit shot 50-of-90 from the floor and enjoyed advantages of 25-15 in second-chance points and 60-46 for points in the paint.

Five Pistons reached double-figures scoring. Jaden Ivey scored six of his 24 points over a 3:23 stretch in the fourth quarter during which Detroit extended a seven-point lead to 13, effectively putting the game away.

Isaiah Stewart scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and blocked a pair of shots, while Ausar Thompson came off the bench for 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals. His steal and fast-break dunk down the stretch put an exclamation point on the win.

Tyus Jones led the Wizards with 22 points, Kyle Kuzma finished with 21 points and a team-high eight rebounds, and Jordan Poole scored 16 points. Washington shot 19-of-41 from 3-point range, including Patrick Baldwin Jr.’s 3-of-3 for all nine of his points off the bench.

The Wizards went just 44-of-95 from the floor overall, however.

The loss denied Washington its bid for back-to-back wins for the first time this season, coming off a rout of Atlanta on Saturday.

Detroit was without Bojan Bogdanovic for a second consecutive game due to a calf injury, and Cade Cunningham for the fourth straight contest with a knee injury.

None of the players swapped between Detroit and Washington on Sunday – Marvin Bagley III and Isaiah Livers going to the Wizards, Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala to the Pistons – played Monday.
