Philadelphia 76ers rookie guard Jared McCain underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.

The team said McCain remains out indefinitely.

McCain was injured during Friday’s 121-107 loss to the Indiana Pacers. The meniscus tear was announced the following day.

McCain, 20, has been a standout with averages of 15.3 points, 2.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 23 games (eight starts) for Philadelphia. He is shooting 46 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from 3-point range.

The Duke product was the 16th overall pick in this summer’s draft.
