AJ Allmendinger will return to full-time driving in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025, Kaulig Racing announced Thursday.

Allmendinger has split duties between the top series and NASCAR Xfinity Series since joining the Kaulig organization in 2019. After driving in the Cup Series full time for Kaulig in 2023, he has full-time duty this season in the Xfinity Series and ranks sixth in the standings with three top-five finishes in 20 starts.

The 42-year-old also splits time in the No. 16 Chevrolet in the Cup Series with drivers Ty Dillon, Derek Kraus, Shane van Gisbergen and Josh Williams.

Allmendinger captured the Xfinity series regular-season championship in 2021 and 2022. He has 17 wins in the series, with 15 in the last five-plus seasons.

A native of Los Gatos, Calif., Allmendinger has won three times in the Cup Series — all on road courses — in 440 races over 17 years. The most recent victory was the Bank of America Roval 400 on Oct. 8, 2023, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course in Concord, N.C.
