Behind a second-half brace by Daniel Gazdag, the visiting Philadelphia Union ended their six-match winless streak in resounding fashion, breezing past the 10-man New England Revolution 3-0 on Saturday.

Julian Carranza also scored for Philadelphia (4-4-5, 17 points), which won for the first time since April 6 and remained unbeaten away from home (3-0-4). The Revs (2-9-1, 7 points), forced to play nearly 75 minutes plus stoppage time a man short after a Ryan Spaulding red card in the 14th minute, lost for the fifth time in six outings (1-5-0).

Philadelphia cashed in on its man advantage in the 38th minute through Carranza, as the Argentinian striker got his head to a perfect cross from Jack McGlynn and beat Aljaz Ivacic for his sixth goal of the season.

The Revs nearly went back on level terms just seconds later, but a strike by Giacomo Vrioni was kept out by a diving Oliver Semmle. The Union goalkeeper later took away a near-post chance from Dylan Borrero as the hosts pushed for an equalizer despite playing a man down.

But the Union doubled their lead in the 47th minute. After Mikael Uhre’s initial header hit the woodwork, Gazdag scored on the follow-up attempt, making it 2-0.

Gazdag added his second of the night — and team-high ninth of the season — in the 80th minute, and that was more than enough for Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, the Revs, who fell to 1-4-1 at home, were shut out for the fourth time this season and have scored the fewest goals in MLS (nine).

They will also be without Spaulding for their contest against New York City FC next Saturday. The New England left-back was given his marching orders for denying Uhre an obvious scoring opportunity in the first half.
