The host Portland Timbers and New York City FC played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Evander scored off assists from Marvin Loria and Christhian Paredes for Portland (5-8-7, 22 points), which kept NYCFC (4-7-9, 21 points) mired in one of their worst slumps in franchise history.

Keaton Parks scored the equalizer off an assist from Matias Pellegrini for NYCFC, who extended their winless streak to 12 games across all competitions, including 11 in league play (0-5-6).

NYCFC, who also fell to FC Cincinnati in the U.S. Open Cup during that stretch, haven’t won since a 3-1 triumph over visiting FC Dallas on April 22. NYCFC are still winless on the road this season (0-5-6).

The Cityzens’ 11-game winless streak in league play is tied for their longest run of futility in team history. NYCFC also went 11 league games (0-7-4) without a win early in the team’s inaugural 2015 season.

Portland took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute. Franck Boli had the ball between the sideline and the penalty area and fed a pass into the box to Paredes, who centered the ball to Loria.

Loria turned and tapped a pass to Evander, who drove a shot from the top of the penalty box past diving goalie Matt Freese.

NYCFC tied the game off a set piece in the 51st minute. Pellegrini delivered a perfect cross on a free kick from outside the box to Parks, who headed it past goalie Aljaz Ivacic.

Portland maintained possession for 53.7 percent of the match and outshot NYCFC 16-8, but the Timbers put just seven shots on frame, while the Cityzens had just three of their attempts on goal.

Freese finished with six saves for NYCFC, while Ivacic had two for Portland, which is 1-3-4 in its past eight games.
