A group led by a co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils, David Blitzer, has emerged as the likely buyers of Major League Soccer franchise Real Salt Lake, Sportico reported Thursday.

MLS took over the sale process of the club in January. Its current owner, Dell Loy Hansen, said he would sell in the wake of reports of his racist and sexist behavior in the workplace.

Hansen also owned majority shares in Real Salt Lake’s USL affiliate, Real Monarchs, and an NWSL club, Utah Royals FC.

In addition to his holdings in American teams and the Devils’ home arena, the Prudential Center, Blitzer is a shareholder of Crystal Palace F.C. of the English Premier League and FC Augsburg of the German Bundesliga.

Sportico did not report a potential figure for the RSL sale.
