The New York Red Bulls signed goalkeeper A.J. Marcucci to a new two-year MLS contract through 2025 with options for 2026 and 2027.
“We are excited to sign A.J. to a new contract to keep him at the club,” NYRB head of sport Jochen Schneider said in a news release Thursday. “He has had a strong year within MLS NEXT Pro so far and we are excited to continue to see him grow with us.”
Marcucci, 23, was drafted by the Red Bulls in the third round in 2021. He has posted eight shutouts and 154 saves in 43 career matches with Red Bulls II.
A native of West Chester, Pa., Marcucci was a three-year starter at Division III Connecticut College, where he appeared in 54 matches and only allowed 27 goals. He set the school record with 25 career shutouts.
