Emil Forsberg and the New York Red Bulls will look to continue their strong level of play when they visit the New England Revolution on Saturday afternoon in Foxborough, Mass.

The Red Bulls (2-1-2; 8 points) answered a season-opening loss by collecting at least a point in each of their last four matches. They posted their second win in that stretch with a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC last Saturday in Harrison, N.J.

Forsberg, New York’s captain, scored both goals for his team in that match to boost his club-leading total to three on the season.

“We are having fun together, working hard, and pushing to improve every game,” the Swedish international said. “After last season, we knew we had to do more, and I think we are doing that. Every game, every day, we are getting better, especially in the attacking half.”

While likely happy with the recent results, Red Bulls head coach Sandro Schwarz expressed concern about the turf at Gillette Stadium.

“We have to be careful,” Schwarz said. “Not only the turf, also our load, with some national players the last 10 days.”

New York midfielder Felipe Carballo will sit out against New England after he picked up a late red card in last Saturday’s victory.

The Revolution (0-3-1, 1 point) have been idle since dropping a 2-1 decision to New York City FC on March 15. New England also has just one goal to its credit, and it was courtesy of an own goal versus NYCFC.

“We have to keep fighting and we have to win the next game. It’s that simple,” Revolution coach Caleb Porter said. “So, it’s good to have a couple weeks just to work on some things and make sure we have the right guys in the lineup in this game, guys that are going to fight.”

New England could get a lift from defender Peyton Miller, a 17-year-old homegrown product from Connecticut. Miller has been working his way back from a groin injury sustained in the preseason.

The teams split their two matches last season, with the home sides emerging victorious.
