The New York Red Bulls completed the acquisition of Norwegian winger Dennis Gjengaar from Odds BK on Friday.

NYRB paid an undisclosed transfer fee and signed the 19-year-old to a four-year MLS contract through 2027 with an option for 2028.

He joins the Red Bulls as a U-22 initiative player, pending completion of his international paperwork.

Gjengaar tallied seven goal and two assists in 39 matches over the past two seasons with Odds BK in Norway’s top flight, the Eliteserien.

“We are very excited to add Dennis to our club. He is a promising young player with a great skillset and tremendous speed,” said Red Bulls head of sport Jochen Schneider. “Dennis is a great individual both on and off the field and we are looking forward to having him with us.”

The Red Bulls open the 2024 MLS regular season at Nashville SC on Feb. 25.
