The Chicago Fire parted ways with French defender Arnaud Souquet on Thursday after two seasons.

The Fire exercised a contract buyout. The 33-year-old right back will no longer occupy a roster spot and his wages will not count against the club’s 2025 salary budget.

Souquet recorded two goals and four assists in 59 matches across all competitions from 2023-24 after arriving from Ligue 1 side Montpellier HSC.

The Fire, in their first season under coach Gregg Berhalter, will open the 2025 MLS regular season on the road against the Columbus Crew on Feb. 22.
