FC Dallas will look to extend its all-time unbeaten streak against Inter Miami CF to three matches when the teams square off Saturday in an interconference match in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Dallas (2-2-2, 8 points) heads to South Florida after a 1-1 draw with Portland on April 1. After Facundo Quignon had given Dallas the lead with a goal in the 74th minute, FCD conceded the equalizer in the first minute of stoppage time.

Portland’s goal extended Dallas’ streak of games allowing a goal to 12, the longest such active streak in the league.

“I think our team did everything to win the game, and the numbers show that,” Dallas coach Nico Estevez said after the draw. “We had a really good game on our set pieces, we could’ve scored two more goals because we had a few chances from them. We had chances through transition plays, and it was unlucky we didn’t score the second goal and close the game out.”

Saturday’s match is the first-ever between the teams in Florida after Dallas recorded a win in 2020 and a draw last season in Texas in the other two all-time games between the sides.

“It is time to start winning games and getting points,” Dallas forward Jesus Ferreira said. “We have to learn from all of our mistakes and keep working week by week.”

Inter Miami (2-4-0, 6 points) has dropped its last four matches after beginning the season with back-to-back wins. Miami has been held scoreless three times during that run, but three of those four losses were on the road and three were lost by a single goal.

“Results aren’t going our way, that’s the frustrating bit, that’s the bit that we need to stop,” Inter Miami coach Phil Neville said. “That’s the bit that we need to focus on, but we’re not a team that’s wobbling — we’re a team that’s playing full of confidence.”

Miami’s most recent result was a 1-0 loss at FC Cincinnati last week.

The Herons’ attack will be boosted by the return of forward Leo Campana, who’s missed the past month with a calf injury.
