The Houston Dynamo signed midfielder Sebastian Kowalczyk on a full transfer from Pogon Szczecin in Poland through the 2024 season on Tuesday.

The Dynamo hold options for 2025 and 2026. He will occupy an international roster spot.

Kowalczyk has made 157 appearances with Pogon Szczecin in the Polish first division, Ekstraklasa, recording 19 goals and 14 assists. He has played for just the one organization, joining its youth division in 2012 before a promotion to the second team in 2014.

“Sebastian can play as a wide or central attacker who will assist in our final push for the MLS Playoffs and compete for a trophy in the U.S. Open Cup,” Dynamo general manager Pat Onstad said in a news release. “At the age of 24, he already has a tremendous amount of first team experience with one of the top clubs in Poland and is a member of Poland’s national team pool.”

With Kowalczyk, Pogon Szczecin finished third in Ekstraklasa in 2021 and 2022.
