The New York Yankees signed veteran reliever Tim Hill to a contract on Thursday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the Yankees, however ESPN reported it was a one-year contract.

The Chicago White Sox designated the 34-year-old left-hander for assignment last week and released him Tuesday.

Hill was 1-0 with a 5.87 ERA in 27 relief appearances for Chicago this season.

Hill is 17-14 with four saves and a 4.30 ERA in 347 games (zero starts) for the Kansas City Royals (2018-19), San Diego Padres (2020-23) and White Sox.

The Yankees cleared a spot on the 26-man roster Thursday morning by optioning Anthony Misiewicz to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and designating fellow left-hander Clayton Andrews for assignment.

The Yankees’ bullpen could use some help with right-hander Ian Hamilton (right lat strain) placed on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday.
