The New York Yankees put recently acquired infielder J.D. Davis on the 10-day injured list Friday with a stomach flu.

The move is retroactive to Tuesday for Davis, who was acquired from the Oakland Athletics on June 23 in exchange for infielder Jordan Groshans.

Davis, 31, has played in five games with the Yankees, including three starts at first base and one as the designated hitter. He is 1-for-13 with a double, an RBI and six strikeouts.

Davis batted .236 with four home runs and five RBIs in 39 games with Oakland this season. He is a career .258 hitter with 72 homers and 221 RBIs in 638 games with the Houston Astros, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, A’s and Yankees.

The Yankees recalled infielder Jorbit Vivas from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to replace Davis on the active roster.

Vivas, 23, has yet to make his major league debut. He is batting .252 with five homers, 24 RBIs and nine steals in 45 games this season across three levels in the minors.
