The journeyman has been sidelined since May 5 with lower back tightness.

The White Sox also designated right-hander Brad Keller for assignment. The moves drop Chicago’s 40-man roster to 39.

Leone, 32, is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in 17 relief appearances on the season, his first with the White Sox. He is 22-24 with a 3.92 ERA in 421 career appearances (four starts) with nine teams.

Keller, 28, is 0-2 with a 4.86 ERA in five appearances (two starts) this season.
