Jake Rogers blasted a three-run homer as the host Detroit Tigers scored eight runs in the fifth inning and romped to a 10-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.

Gio Urshela and Zach McKinstry drove in two runs apiece, while Riley Greene had two doubles and an RBI as Detroit ended a three-game losing streak.

Tigers starter Tarik Skubal (8-1) allowed one run and five hits while striking out 10 in 6 2/3 innings.

Brewers starter Bryse Wilson (3-3) was charged with seven runs in 4 1/3 innings. Brice Turang’s two-out RBI triple in the seventh ended Skubal’s shutout bid.

Milwaukee’s William Contreras had his streak of 101 consecutive games played snapped. Contreras, who is batting .309 for the season, got the day off after hitting .200 (6-for-30) this month.

After Skubal struck out the side in the first, the Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the inning.

Wenceel Perez led off with a single and Mark Canha was hit by a pitch. Greene’s double to right center brought home Perez. Canha scored on Justyn-Henry Malloy’s sacrifice fly.

The Brewers had two baserunners in the second, including a bunt single from Blake Perkins. A strikeout and lineout ended that threat.

Greene also doubled in his second at-bat during the third inning but was left stranded at third.

Skubal issued one-out walks to Willy Adames and Gary Sanchez in the fourth. After a fielder’s choice groundball out left runners at second and third, left fielder Greene made a diving catch of a Jackson Chourio liner to keep the Brewers off the scoreboard.

The Tigers took command in the fifth with their outburst. Perez led off with a bunt single. After a hit by pitch and walk loaded the bases with one out, Urshela’s single to center off Wilson scored two runs.

Following a walk, McKinstry’s bloop single off reliever Hoby Milner drove in two more runs. Andy Ibanez singled to knock in another run before Rogers ripped his fifth homer to the opposite field.
