The Detroit Tigers placed right-hander Michael Pineda on the 15-day injured list on Sunday, hours after he left his most recent outing with soreness in his triceps.

The Tigers recalled right-hander Angel De Jesus from Triple-A Toledo to replace Pineda, who is headed to the injured list for the second time this season. Pineda missed approximately six weeks after sustaining a fractured right middle finger on May 14.

Pineda, 33, is 2-6 with a 5.27 ERA in 10 starts this season, his first with Detroit.

He is 64-60 with a 4.03 ERA in 180 career appearances (179 starts) with the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins and Tigers.

De Jesus, 25, has yet to record a decision and registered a 4.91 ERA in two relief appearances with Detroit earlier this season.
