Mother Nature hasn’t been kind to the series between the Detroit Tigers and host New York Mets.

The teams played their scheduled series opener on Monday, with Tuesday’s game rained out. Wednesday’s contest was put on ice for the same reason. The Tigers and Mets will play a single-admission doubleheader on Thursday, beginning at 12:10 p.m. ET tp make up the two lost games.

The teams aren’t scheduled to meet again this season aside from the current series.

Tuesday’s scheduled starters, right-handers Casey Mize for the Tigers and Adrian Houser for the Mets, were slated to pitch on Wednesday night before that game was postponed. It is not immediately known if they will pitch in either game of the doubleheader on Thursday.

Mize would be making his first major league appearance in almost two years, having dealt with Tommy John surgery and back surgery since April 2022. He is 7-13 with a 4.29 ERA in his 39-game career.

Houser (8-5, 4.12 ERA in 2023) would be making his Mets debut. He was acquired in December in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.
