Trea Turner hit a two-run single, Brandon Marsh added three hits and an RBI and the host Philadelphia Phillies defeated the New York Mets 5-1 on a rainy Friday.

Bryce Harper had an RBI single before being ejected in the seventh inning.

The Phillies have won 14 of their past 18 games.

Philadelphia starter Taijuan Walker tossed six solid innings, allowing three hits and one run with five strikeouts and one walk.

Walker (8-3) won his fourth consecutive start.

Craig Kimbrel allowed a leadoff walk to Francisco Lindor in the ninth but threw a scoreless inning and stranded Lindor at third base.

Brandon Nimmo hit a solo home run for the Mets, who dropped their third in a row.

Mets starter Kodai Senga (6-5) allowed five hits and four runs, two earned, with six strikeouts and three walks in 5 1/3 innings.

The Phillies went ahead 1-0 in the first when Harper blooped a single to left to score Kyle Schwarber from second. Bryson Stott added a sacrifice fly to deep center for a 2-0 lead.

The Mets closed within 2-1 in the third when Nimmo launched a solo homer to right-center. It was his eighth bomb of the season.

Nick Castellanos singled with two outs in the fifth and was stranded when Harper was called out on strikes.

In the sixth, Starling Marte lined out to left, Lindor flied out to center and Pete Alonso flied out to left against Walker.

With runners at first and third and one out in the bottom of the sixth, Marsh’s soft fly ball to left fell between Lindor at shortstop and Tommy Pham in left field for an RBI single and a 3-1 lead. The Phillies eventually loaded the bases with two outs and Turner hit a two-run single to left off Jeff Brigham for a 5-1 advantage.

Harper struck out to lead off the bottom of the seventh and was ejected by plate umpire Mike Estabrook as he made his way back to the dugout.
