Wednesday’s game between the Kansas City Royals and host Cleveland Guardians was postponed due to inclement weather in Northern Ohio.

The contest will be rescheduled for Monday, Aug. 26, in Cleveland as part of a split doubleheader.

The Royals and Guardians will finish what is now a two-game series on Thursday afternoon. Cleveland notched an 8-5 win in the series opener on Tuesday.

Kansas City right-hander Brady Singer (4-2, 2.63 ERA) was slated to start Wednesday but will now take the ball on Thursday.

Cleveland was going with a bullpen game Wednesday so right-hander Tanner Bibee (4-1, 3.74) is slated to start Thursday as previously scheduled.

The Guardians lead the American League Central by five games over the second-place Royals.
