Charlie Blackmon smacked a two-run double and Nolan Jones added a two-run triple during a five-run fifth inning to help the Colorado Rockies notch a 9-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night at Phoenix.

Ezequiel Tovar and Brenton Doyle each hit two-run homers for the Rockies, who recorded their first win of the season. Colorado was outscored 23-4 while losing the first two contests of the four-game set that concludes Sunday.

Blackmon, Doyle and Ryan McMahon each had two hits for Colorado, which defeated the Diamondbacks for just the fourth time in 16 meetings since the beginning of the 2023 season.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Eugenio Suarez homered for Arizona. Gurriel has homered in each game of the series to become the first Diamondbacks player to homer in each of the first three games of a season.

Corbin Carroll, Gurriel and Suarez each had two hits for Arizona, which hit into four double plays.

The Diamondbacks were just 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position, two days after going 12-for-15 when they rolled to a 16-3 victory over Colorado on Opening Day.

The Rockies trailed 3-2 before the big five-run inning.

Elehuris Montero walked and Doyle singled off Tommy Henry (0-1) before Blackmon hit the double to right to give Colorado a one-run lead.

Kris Bryant drew a walk before Jones came up and tripled to right to give the Rockies a 6-3 lead. Jones later scored on McMahon’s sacrifice fly.

Colorado starter Austin Gomber allowed four runs and six hits over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked three.

Peter Lambert (1-0) retired three batters — including the final out of the fifth — while allowing one hit and walking two for the Rockies.

Henry gave up five runs and six hits in four-plus innings. He struck out four and walked two.

Arizona scored twice in the first inning on Gurriel’s RBI double and Moreno’s groundout.

Colorado tied the score with two outs in the second as Elias Diaz singled and Tovar followed with a homer to left center.

Arizona moved back ahead in the bottom of the fourth on Suarez’s leadoff blast to left center.
