The Kansas City Royals reportedly are finalizing deals with free agent outfielder Hunter Renfroe and right-hander Michael Wacha on Friday.
MLB Network said Renfroe will get a two-year, $13 million contract plus incentives that includes a player opt-out after 2024.
USA Today reported that Wacha’s deal is for two years and $32 million and also includes an opt-out after next season.
Renfroe, 31, split the 2023 season with the Los Angeles Angels and Cincinnati Reds and hit .233 with 20 homers and 60 RBIs. The eight-year veteran is a career .239 hitter with 177 homers and 454 RBIs in 841 games with six teams.
Wacha, 32, went 14-4 with a 3.22 ERA in 24 starts for the San Diego Padres in 2023. He is 88-54 with a 3.96 ERA in 249 games (228 starts) over 11 seasons with five different teams. He was a National League All-Star in 2015 with the St. Louis Cardinals.
