The Colorado Rockies and right-hander Cal Quantrill reached a one-year, $6.55 million deal and avoided arbitration, multiple outlets reported.
Quantrill, who turns 29 next month, was traded to the Rockies by the Cleveland Guardians in November for minor league catcher Kody Huff.
Quantrill was 4-7 with a 5.24 ERA in 19 starts last season with the Guardians. That followed a 15-5 campaign in 2022 and a 2.89 ERA in 2021.
He owns a 35-23 record with a 3.83 ERA in 132 games (94 starts) with the San Diego Padres (2019-20) and Cleveland (2020-23).
Drafted in the first round (eighth overall) by the Padres in 2016 out of Stanford, Quantrill earned $5.55 million last season. He is not eligible for free agency until 2026.
