Veteran outfielder Andrew McCutchen is returning to the Pittsburgh Pirates on a one-year contract, multiple media outlets reported on Friday.
Financial terms were not disclosed for McCutchen, who spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Pirates. He was named the 2013 National League MVP and made five consecutive All-Star appearances (2011-15) during that stretch.
McCutchen, 36, batted .237 with 17 homers and 69 RBIs in 134 games with the Milwaukee Brewers last season. He signed a one-year, $8.5 million deal with the Brewers ahead of the 2022 campaign.
In 14 career seasons, McCutchen has batted .277 with 287 home runs with 1,002 RBIs for the Pirates (2009-17), San Francisco Giants (2018), New York Yankees (2018), Philadelphia Phillies (2019-21) and Brewers.
