Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Ryan Pepiot will miss some time after taking a line drive off his left leg in Sunday’s start against the New York Mets.

Rays manager Kevin Cash told reporters Tuesday that Pepiot is “likely” going on the 15-day injured list.

Pepiot, 26, left Sunday’s 7-6, 10-inning win in the third inning after being struck by a 107.5-mph comebacker off the bat of Starling Marte.

The team said X-rays and a CT scan were negative and Pepiot is dealing with a bruise on his lower left leg.

Pepiot is 3-2 with a 3.68 ERA through seven starts, striking out 41 batters and walking 11 in 36 2/3 innings. He was acquired in a December trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
