MLB: Rays place OF Manuel Margot (hamstring) on injured list

The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Manuel Margot on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right hamstring strain.

Margot is off to a fast start this season. He is batting .348 with three homers and 21 RBIs in 27 games.

Margot, 27, is a .255 career hitter with 47 homers and 219 RBIs in 627 games with the San Diego Padres and Rays.

Also on Sunday, Tampa Bay recalled right-hander Ralph Garza Jr. from Triple-A Durham.

Garza, 28, did not record a decision and registered a 6.00 ERA in three relief appearances this season with the Rays. He is 1-4 with a 3.96 ERA in 30 relief appearances with the Houston Astros, Minnesota Twins and Rays.

At Durham this season, he is 2-2 with a 2.77 ERA in eight games (two starts).
