MLB: Pirates SS Oneil Cruz leaves game after collision

Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz left Wednesday’s game at Boston after a collision with Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers.

Cruz was injured in the top of the seventh inning. He remained in the game but was replaced in the field between innings by Rodolfo Castro. Cruz was replaced at the leadoff spot by Connor Joe, who entered as the right fielder.

Cruz went 1-for-4 with a run before exiting. He came into Wednesday’s action batting .263 with a home run and three RBIs in five starts.
