The Pittsburgh Pirates reinstated rookie outfielder/catcher Henry Davis from the 10-day injured list Friday and optioned infielder Vinny Capra to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Davis, 23, was on a rehab assignment because of a strained right hand. He batted .615 (8-for-13) with one homer and two RBIs in four games at Indianapolis.

Davis last played for the Pirates on Aug. 20. He made his MLB debut on June 19 and is batting .213 with five home runs and 18 RBIs in 51 games with Pittsburgh.

Davis was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 draft. He has played primarily right field for the Pirates this season with just two appearances behind the plate.

Capra, 27, went 3-for-18 (.167) with one RBI in nine games this season for Pittsburgh.
